Phase 2: Community Advisory Council

Phase 2 consists of a Community Advisory Council (CAC), in which participants will discuss, draft, and refine intervention materials for the smoking cessation program.

 

Why is Phase 2 being done? 

We would like to get your input on the smoking cessation program materials.

Where will Phase 2 of this study happen? 

Each Community Advisory Council (CAC) session will be held virtually over Zoom or over the phone. 

What will happen if I take part in Phase 2 of this study? 

You will be part of a CAC with others like yourself, and you will discuss the adaptation of an existing smoking cessation program.

During CAC sessions, we will ask for your input on drafts of program materials. We will solicit input on the content that highlight resilience, solidarity, and self-empowerment among participants. We will also solicit input on specific group and dyadic activities that promote mutual support, engagement, and influence, and allow opportunities for communication and coordination of smoking cessation and HIV-related needs

How long will Phase 2 take?

Each CAC session will last about 2.5 hours will meet 3 times.

What will I be paid for participating in Phase 2 of the study? 

You will be paid $40 for each session in which you participate.
